The Quincy Retirement System has been made aware of a phishing email sent to an active member’s personal email address of another public retirement system. The email appeared to come from the city’s “Personnel Department” and asked the member to schedule an appointment to discuss retirement-related matters using a link included in the message.

Please be aware that this email was fraudulent. The member recognized that something was unusual and reported it to the staff of their retirement system.

Please be advised that The Quincy Retirement System will never email members asking them to schedule an appointment through a link in an email. If you receive an unexpected email requesting that you schedule an appointment, provide personal information, or click on a link related to your retirement benefits, do not respond or click the link.

If you receive a suspicious email that appears to be from the Quincy Retirement System or the City of Quincy regarding your retirement benefits, please contact the Quincy Retirement System directly to verify its authenticity before taking any action.

Thank you for helping us protect the security of your retirement information.

Regards,

Rick Coscia
